Safe Communities, Mental Health & Holistic Family Support
1 in 4 Malaysian youths report mental health challenges, and family stability is under growing pressure — over 62,000 divorce cases are recorded annually, and more than half of parents report moderate to high parenting-related stress. Over 6,000 child abuse cases are reported each year, 1 in 10 children face risks of online exploitation, and 60,000 refugee children have limited access to education and protection, often in communities where organisations still lack trauma-informed, safeguarding-ready capacity.
This pillar currently includes two programmes: the Green House of Faith Alliance, which turns mosques into spaces for parenting support, youth engagement, and mental wellbeing, and Safe Spaces for Children, which strengthens partner organisations' safeguarding systems and trauma-informed practices. Both are grounded in the belief that prevention protects families long before a crisis reaches them. Donations to this pillar are not restricted to these two programmes — funds are directed to whichever child protection and family wellbeing initiatives, current or future, will create the greatest impact.
