Morocco is no stranger to the devastation of earthquakes.

The Morocco earthquake of 1960 occurred in near the city of Agadir, killing over 12,000, injuring a further 12,000, and leaving another 35,000 homeless. A second, smaller earthquake in Morocco happened on 24th February 2004 resulting in the deaths of 600 people.
There was recently another devastating earthquake on September 8, 2023. This latest Morocco earthquake today is one of the worst earthquakes to hit the country in 63 years. To date it has taken the lives of over 3,000 and still counting. More than 5,000 people have been injured and thousands more displaced. The Earthquake has caused major destruction across the country and was felt as far as Portugal.
