Qurban4Life

What we do

Qurban4Life

What is Qurban?
It is an act of sacrifice,  a highly recommended religious rite since the times of Prophet Ibrahim a.s.

We call on you to donate your sacrifice, religious duty, to the world’s most needy families – give a Qurban4Life.

PARTICIPATE NOW!

Muslim Aid monitors the certified halal process of your Qurban. This ensures humane treatment of animals that results in healthy meat products. As part of our efforts to provide quality food aid distribution, Muslim Aid sources livestock according to Islamic specifications. We ensure a balanced selection of male and female sheep for long-term sustainability, and non-diseased animals.

Slaughtering will be carried out on the 10th to 13th Zulhijjah yearly at halal facilities chosen by Muslim Aid. This slaughter is done in selected abattoirs in Australia that is recognized by JAKIM and closely monitored by our sister organization, Muslim Aid Australia.

CANNED

Muslim Aid has been organising Qurban for over 30 years for distribution as food aid to the world’s most needy. We see the canning of Qurban as a viable alternative in poor, drought-stricken and war-torn places that are lacking infrastructure such as electricity.Canned meat precedes longer “shelf life” allowing the poor and the destitute to sustain their families for a longer period in times of calamities and trial.

POUCHED
A new packaging introduced this year allows for easier logistics especially for hard to access destinations. Recipients will find it more convenient as no can opener is needed to open the pouch. The quality of processed meat is the same as those in cans.

LOCAL SLAUGHTER
Muslim Aid also organises “Local Slaughter” in some countries. This way, your contributions assist in the on-going sustainability of that community.

  1. Livestock is purchased locally.
  2. Support local farmers.
  3. Fresh meat is enjoyed on Eid day.
  4. The needy community also benefit from non-meat products of the Qurban such as skin and wool.

DISTRIBUTION

Muslim Aid assesses each country’s need and logistics, to distribute the most effective form of Qurban with your donation.
